Vol 4, Chap 7 (Final Part)
The temperature steadily lowered as the sun began to set. Before I could say “It’s cold. Let’s go back in”, Chitanda spoke.
"Oreki-san, in the dressing room, I said that I would go and speak to the priest on the other side, didn’t I?"
I nodded. Chitanda had said to leave it to her to contact the priest, and that her father would inform the head of the shrine’s volunteers. Me passing on this short message was enough for the ruckus caused by Choukyuu Bridge’s blockage to quickly calm down.
"It might be meaningless to you, but would you please listen to what I have to say?"
If Satoshi had been the one to say these words, I wouldn’t have found it peculiar. But I had never heard Chitanda speak with such earnest preamble. Of course, I couldn’t tell her that I felt really cold and wanted to go back into the room.
